About the Artist

Juyeoun Kim is a versatile visual artist whose creative journey spans continents and mediums. Born and raised in South Korea, she developed a deep appreciation for art at an early age. Juyeoun holds a degree in visual arts, which nurtured her passion for drawing, particularly with pencil, which remains a cornerstone of her artistic expression. She immigrated to Pittsburgh three years ago, and has frequently been artistically inspired by its cityscapes. Last year, she won a scholarship for emerging artists at Pittsburgh’s Three Rivers Art Festival.

Her exploration of color and texture has led her to embrace acrylic and oil paints, allowing her to create vibrant, dynamic works that invite viewers into her imaginative world. In addition to traditional media, Juyeoun has ventured into the realm of digital art, seamlessly blending her skills to produce contemporary pieces that reflect her diverse influences.

Juyeoun’s artistic journey took her to Rome, Italy, where she studied design, further expanding her creative horizons and enriching her aesthetic sensibilities. This unique combination of cultural experiences informs her work, allowing her to weave together elements from different traditions.

In addition to her personal artistic practice, Juyeoun is passionate about sharing her knowledge and fostering creativity in others. She teaches art privately, offering tailored instruction that encourages individual expression and skill development.
