Artist Marlon Gist is originally from Sewickley but now calls Aliquippa home. Marlon’s passion for art—beginning with the influence of his late father David Gist Sr.—led him to pursue a degree at the Columbus College of Art and Design in Ohio, where he honed his craft in a wide range of media and styles. Mr. Gist is now recognized as one of Pittsburgh’s top emerging artists, whose works are on display across the United States. My art is inspired by my everyday life. I love to be able to think of something in my head and deliver it onto canvas or paper. To me that feeling is very magical and fulfilling. I love to work with vibrant colors to promote happiness in people. I want the viewer to feel what I feel— joy! My style of art is “Marlon Gist.” Producing an extensive amount of art from abstraction to realism, I try to master all media, from graphite pencil to oil paint and everything in between. Simply put, I love art and strive to be among the best artists in the world.
